My gorgeous life partner is about to have a birthday. It's not her fault, The birthday I mean. The gorgeous part IS her fault, a product of the way she conducts herself. She displays none of that Vanilla submission to society's rule that the older women should dress to cover up. Walking with a straight back, tummy in, tits out, Pilates style, she oozes strength and confidence and does it her way. Imperfections born of age and medical intervention are accepted or cleverly concealed by stylish dress. To me she is so much more attractive than the girl I see in photos of decades ago. There is nothing more attractive than a woman (or man, a person indeed) who is happy with herself. I have a lingering mental image of an older woman at Swingfest who danced so seductively that she had assembled a coterie of admirers around her. They were at her beck and call. Her stylish lingerie and the writhing movement of her body stirred loins, including mine, yet she was clearly too short for her weight, a minor fact dismissed by me because of her radiance. Her demeanour said to me that she knew she could get what she wanted, whatever that might be. Confidence and knowing what we want is a product of age. For me ( No youngster myself) being with a woman who knows what she wants is liberating. I do not need to worry that she is metamorphosing herself into someone that will make me like her. If I don't like her as she is then she won't want me - leave, goodbye, hasta la vista baby. So knowing there is truth in the way we relate, that she chooses to live with me when she is constantly hit on by others, this is a source of enormous contentment for us both. My gorgeous life partner is about to have a birthday. It is a number over 39. Freaky stuff for most women. Yet I would not have her any other way and I know for myself I would not trade her wisdom for a younger model.
