While I could list a great many things that make R 'special' ...It would read like a wish list for the many out there still looking for their 'special' some one.
So here is the top 2
1)He encourages me to step outside my comfort zone,helping me grow and have new experiences while keeping me safe.(Not just talking about sexual stuff) Not interfering,just being there if I need him.
2)He listens to me without interupting me or trying to correct me.
The experience of previous relationships seems to greatly affect what becomes valued and valuable in relationships

Male half perspective here....

Takes some careful thinking to wrap it up in a few words - there are so many things that she provides us as a couple that I value.

1/ I think one thing that deserves a significant mention is the completeness that Swingfest also commented on. I have a bit different description to Swingfest's definition though. Like Swingfest there are some aspects of completeness that relate to our differences but the most important aspect is the completeness that result from similarities too. Our belief in similar aspects of morality, tastes in many things, ideals for the future etc etc. We are far from clones of each other but there is a level of compatability that makes us a complete couple.

2/ Secondly is the expansion of me as a person. Her being strong willed in lots of ways (sooooo submissive in others

) results in me getting challenges to my less thougtful behaviour that are necessary and positive for me and our relationship.

3/ Openess now there's another really important one. Her being able to simply say from "Talking to me in that tone shits me don't do it" to "I want to be _____ in ____ and then I want you to ____ " is invaluable in our relationship.

And then there is the usual suspects - 4/ absolutely amazing cook (my expanding waistline is testimony to that)
5/ great sexual partner (I will find something that you say
